ONOS

The QMGCW Library is proud to announce our integration with the One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) initiative. This provides our academic community with access to millions of scholarly articles and thousands of premium journals from top-tier global publishers.

1. What is ONOS?

ONOS is a "cluster-based" subscription model that allows students and faculty to access high-quality, peer-reviewed journals that were previously behind expensive paywalls.

Massive Library: Access to over 13,000+ journals from publishers like Elsevier, Springer Nature, Wiley, and more.
Search Efficiency: One single portal to search across multiple disciplines.
Cost-Free for Users: All subscription costs are covered by the government for our institution.
Latest Research: Immediate access to current issues and "Early Cite" articles.

2. How to Access

To ensure security and proper usage, access is filtered through the Library Department.

Register: Visit the Library Help Desk to request your INFED/Shibboleth account.
Activation: The Librarian will register your institutional email. You will receive an activation link.
Login: On the ONOS portal, select "Institutional Login", find our college name, and enter your credentials.

3. Navigating the ONOS Portal

To make the most of your research time, follow this workflow:

Feature	How to Use It
Simple Search	Enter keywords, DOI, or Article Title in the main search bar.
Journal Finder	Use this to see if a specific journal (e.g., Nature or The Lancet) is included.
Browse by Subject	Click on your department (e.g., Engineering, Arts, Management) to see curated lists.
My Library	Create a personal account on the portal to save searches and set "New Issue" alerts.

4. Fair Use Policy (Important)

To maintain our college's access, all users must follow these rules:

No Bulk Downloading: Do not use "robots" or software to download entire volumes of journals.
Personal Use Only: These resources are for your academic research and should not be shared with external parties.
Copyright: Standard copyright laws apply to all downloaded PDFs.
